Part time Family Group Worker

We are very pleased to announce that we are recruiting for an additional part time Family Group Worker

Would you like to use your Early Years’ experience to support both children and their parents in our group settings?

Home-Start is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age. We offer support, friendship and practical help to prevent family crisis or breakdown via our trained volunteers and family groups.

We are looking for a person of warmth, creativity, flexibility and experience to set up and take charge of two new groups – one in Horsham (for new parents and babies) and one in Crawley (for parents with children over 18 months). The post involves supporting and supervising a small team of volunteers to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for children (aged 0-3) and their carers. The role requires the establishment of the Home-Start ethos, setting up and clearing away of equipment, monitoring paperwork and liaison with other agencies.

Personal parenting experience is required, along with a sound knowledge of children’s development 0-5yrs. This is an exciting and rewarding role within a friendly and supportive team for the right person.

Hours of work: 10 hours per week to cover 2 groups which run term time only with some requirement for occasional work over the summer holidays by arrangement.

Salary: £4793 actual (£20,493 pro rata)

Contributory pension available and own car is essential as the role involves travelling between the groups. Mileage expenses will be covered
