Home-Start Crawley, Horsham & Mid Sussex
There for parents when they need us most,
because childhood can't wait
Meet the Team
Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to make an impact for local families. With a broad range of skills and expertise in the early years and beyond, our team provides the community with not only in-home support, but also our popular family groups, designed to help parents and their children meet others in the local community.
Lisa
Scheme Manager
I joined the team at Home-Start CHAMS in the summer of 2021 as a family/volunteer co-ordinator, I love meeting new people and am overjoyed that my role engages me with families, volunteers and other professionals, and that no two days are the same. I come from an Early Years background, first gaining an FDA in Montessori, then a BA (hons) in Early Years and Early Years Professional Status in 2011. I share Home Start’s passion for improving outcomes for young children through early intervention and am privileged to see first-hand how Home Start volunteers change lives for parents and their children – childhood really can’t wait! At home I am a Mum to two grown-up boys, I spend my spare time catching up with friends, walking our German Shepherd dog and squeezing in a bit of crochet or baking at the weekends.
Judi
Senior Co-ordinator
As a Mum to three now grown-up children, I joined Home-Start CHAMS in 2019 and feel privileged to be in contact with families across the region and share a little of their parenting journey. Having worked within family support in Glasgow and filled a number of roles as Occupational Therapist in Community Mental health in New Zealand, I have thoroughly enjoyed the grass roots, flexible and practical support that Homestart offers. The volunteers are an incredible group of people who know how tough parenting can be and do an amazing job supporting parents to give their little ones the best possible start in life with care and compassion
Lindsey
Family and Volunteer Co-ordinator
Having recently joined Home-Start CHAMS as a Family and Volunteer Co-ordinator, I am excited to support children and families with their journey. With a background working for the West Sussex Portage Service and in schools as a teacher, Higher Level Teaching Assistant and Teaching Assistant (largely in the Early Years), I bring with me experience of assisting children and families to thrive. As a parent to two teenage children, including one with Additional Needs, I understand the everyday challenges of parenting.
Bryony
Family and Volunteer Co-ordinator
I am delighted to have recently joined the Home-Start CHAMS team as a family & volunteer co-ordinator. I live in West Sussex with my 3 young children, so I know first-hand how tough parenting can be and the importance of providing a supportive and nurturing environment for children to thrive. I bring with me 14 years of teaching experience, mainly in the Early Years. I have a passion for shaping young minds and supporting children and families in those crucial first years. My journey has now brought me to Home Start, where I hope to use my experience to support our amazing volunteers to help families in need and make a positive impact on the community.
Maggie
Senior Group Co-ordinator
I joined Home-Start CHAMS in Sept 2022. I live in West Sussex with my partner and three teenage children. For the past ten years I have worked for Early Help, Children’s Services, West Sussex County Council running parent and toddler groups, managing outreach projects in the community, and supporting local families in their homes. Prior to this I worked in Early Years as a childminder for five years. I love the work that Home-Start CHAMS do – it is all about offering practical support, whilst fostering relationships with families over time. I’m really excited to be developing our group offer to meet the needs of more families in our area
