Celebrating our 20th anniversary

On the 24th September, Home-Start CHAMS, along with our volunteers, supporters, local councillors and His Worship The Mayor of Crawley Councillor Carlos Castro, celebrated 20 years of supporting local families.

The celebration, kindly sponsored by RSA, took place at the Hawth Theatre with families sharing their experiences of our support, presentation of long service awards to volunteers, an opportunity for networking and their AGM.

Nicola Demetriadi, Chair of Trustees said “We are so proud to have supported thousands of vulnerable children and their families over the past two decades which was made possible by the incredible support of our volunteers and supporters. Our 20th birthday wish is to support every child that needs us.”

Our birthday wish is based on the desire to support every family that comes to us for help – tragically last year we had to turn away almost half of the families needing support due to a lack of resources. “We are continually working to raise funds to enable us to reach more local children and families.” Liz Roe, Scheme Manager, and part of Home-Start CHAMS for the last 18 years, shares “We are so proud to achieve this milestone, and look forward to working with the local community to give more local children the best possible start in life in years to come.”
