Hundreds of Super Heroes descend on Tilgate Park
Spider-Man, and his friends were in town on Saturday 22nd July for our Super Hero Fun Run.
They were on a special mission to be ‘Super Heroes to vulnerable local children’. Spider-man entertained the crowds in Tilgate Park and led a special Super Hero warm up before setting off the 1.5km, or 500m Fun Run.
More than 300 local Super Heroes joined him to race around the lake, as part of their mission to raise sponsorship for Home-Start CHAMS.
Crawley Wellbeing, Tesco and Aldi were pleased to be able to support the event by sponsoring the goody bags for all the participants which included fresh fruit and water to further encourage healthy living within the local community.
Aneliese Whittaker, Fundraising and Marketing Co-ordinator at Home-Start said “The event was a great success. We were so pleased to see all our local super heroes come out to support the event, despite the rain, and help us raise vital funds. Special thanks all of our runners, volunteers and supporters- Spider-Man from Super Hero Parties, Tilgate Park, Crawley Wellbeing, Tilgate Parkrun, Aldi Crawley, Tesco Three Bridges, Whizzfit, GoApe Tilgate, Dave Kelly Carpentry, and Squirrel Girl – without them none of this would have been possible”
Following the run children and families enjoyed the event village which included bouncy castles, Spider-Man meet and greet, Glitter Tattoos, crepes and craft stalls.
